Cyboracle Prime is a conversational AI experience and digital twin of the legendary Nona Hendryx, created in collaboration with EyeJack. Built from her voice, philosophies, memories, and creative methodologies, Cyboracle Prime invites participants into guided conversations about Afrofuturism, collaboration, and identity - accessible through any browser, by voice or by text.

Nona Hendryx

Best known as a founding member of Labelle and for the iconic Lady Marmalade, Nona Hendryx has spent decades pushing beyond the traditional boundaries of music and performance. A pioneering voice in experimental music, technology, design, and Afrofuturism, she has consistently embraced technology not as something separate from humanity but as an extension of it. Described by the New York Times as a "vanguard creator" and "human futurist," Nona approaches every collaboration with curiosity, ethics, and deep care for the communities her work touches.

The Journey

Participants enter a narrative-driven conversational experience that is educational, reflective and creative. EyeJack used ElevenLabs to create a high-fidelity voice clone of Nona, capturing her tone, cadence and character, then brought it into a custom interactive world where visitors can speak with Cyboracle in real time.

Through the conversation, visitors are introduced to Adinkra symbols: visual symbols from the Akan people of Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire that express philosophical ideas, cultural values and ways of understanding the world. One of these symbols is Sankofa, meaning "go back and fetch it" — a reminder that the past holds knowledge we need in order to move forward.

Guided by Cyboracle, visitors are invited to connect personal memory with ancestral knowledge, rhythm and Afrofuturist storytelling. The result is a digital encounter that feels part oracle, part archive and part creative ritual: a space where technology becomes a way to listen, reflect and imagine future possibilities through the wisdom of the past.

Memory as Music

The EyeJack team worked closely with Nona to translate her philosophies into conversational design, prompt engineering and behavioural guardrails, ensuring the experience remains aligned with her intentions at every step. Like Nona herself, Cyboracle Prime is determined, gentle, wise, playful and deeply collaborative.

As visitors speak with Cyboracle Prime, their reflections are transformed into a personalised piece of music: a crafted keepsake of their journey through the experience. Using ElevenLabs for the music generation component, each track becomes a unique response to the visitor's conversation, shaped by memory, rhythm and the themes they explore along the way.

The generated music functions as both memento and extension of the artwork, produced through ethically licensed AI tools built on consent-based agreements with artists and rights holders. Nona intends Cyboracle Prime to continue as a living part of her legacy.
